Plaque en terre chamottée émaillée gris-vert et noir, à décor d’un rameur, du céramiste français Jean Linard (1931-2010). Pièce rare dans l’oeuvre du céramiste.
La plaque émaillée est encadrée dans un châssis d’acier noir, pourvu d’une accroche à l’arrière permettant de le suspendre au mur.
Bon état général. Oxydation du cadre, léger fel à peine visible sur la plaque, sans conséquence sur la solidité de l’ensemble.
Jean Linard était un céramiste, peintre, sculpteur, graveur et architecte français qui a oeuvré notamment dans le village de La Borne en France, célèbre centre de poteire depuis 5 siècles.

Grey-green and black glazed chamotte clay plaque decorated with a rower, by French ceramicist Jean Linard (1931-2010). A rare piece in the ceramist's oeuvre.
The glazed plaque is framed in a black steel frame with a hook on the back for hanging on the wall.
Good overall condition. Oxidation on the frame, slight, barely visible wear on the plate, with no impact on the overall solidity.
Jean Linard was a French ceramist, painter, sculptor, engraver and architect who worked mainly in the village of La Borne in France, a famous pottery centre for five centuries.

Céramique émaillée et légèrement craquelée, dans des nuances de vert. La base non émaillée présente une belle texture brun mat, offrant un contraste de couleurs et de matière. Quelques petits éclats à la base, état d’usage.
Création de Pierre Roulot (1917-2007), peintre et céramiste français ayant notamment travaillé pour Pol Chambost, Georges Jouve, ou pour la verrerie Daum. Son travail, proche de l’artisanat populaire, était exposé à la mythique galerie Steph Simon dans les années 50 et 60, rare privilège pour un céramiste.

Glazed and slightly cracked ceramic in shades of green. The unglazed base has a beautiful matte brown texture, offering a contrast of colours and materials. A few small chips on the base, normal wear and tear.
Created by Pierre Roulot (1917-2007), a French painter and ceramicist who worked for Pol Chambost, Georges Jouve, and the Daum glassworks, among others. His work, close to folk art, was exhibited at the legendary Steph Simon gallery in the 1950s and 1960s, a rare privilege for a ceramist.
