Bougeoir artisanal de style brutaliste en fer forgé réalisé par le ferronier Roger Blanc (artisan repertorié dans le “Guide des artisans et créateurs de France” de 1970). Travail français des années 60/70 à rapprocher de la production des Artisans de Marolles. Signé “R BLANC” sur une des branches.
Une bougie d’un diamètre de 4cm peut être placée au centre, enserrée entre les trois branches.
Belle patine du métal, travail de grande qualité, présence sculpturale affirmée.

A candle with a diameter of 4 cm can be placed in the centre, held between the three branches.

Élégant vide poche circulaire et légèrement concave, en lucite (autrement appelé Plexiglas) teintée noire à inclusion d'un coquillage dans le bassin, signé sous la base « F Mercier et Cie ». Cette société française historique est spécialisée dans la production de boutons de nacre depuis 1937, et a fabriqué dans son histoire quelques objets décoratifs de qualité.
Bel aspect de la nacre, reflets irisés du coquillage. Le Plexiglas est en parfait état, aucune traces, griffures, ni ébréchures.

Elegant circular, slightly concave trinket dish made of black-tinted Lucite (also known as Plexiglas) with a shell embedded in the base, signed ‘F Mercier et Cie’ underneath. This historic French company has specialised in the production of mother-of-pearl buttons since 1937 and has manufactured a number of high-quality decorative objects throughout its history.
Beautiful mother-of-pearl appearance, iridescent reflections from the shell. The Plexiglas is in perfect condition, with no marks, scratches or chips.

Camille Claus est un peintre et graveur français né à Strasbourg le 30 septembre 1920, et mort dans la même ville le 2 juillet 2005. Il est un des artistes alsaciens majeurs du XXè siècle, d'abord expressionniste, puis abstrait et figuratif. Il fut aussi dessinateur, poète, sérigraphe et enseignant à l'École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg. Il était proche des peintres Auguste Herbin et Jean Arp.
Bel état général, à noter une légère griffure à peine visible. Très beau rendu, belle qualité, à encadrer.

Camille Claus was a French painter and printmaker who was born in Strasbourg on 30 September 1920 and died there on 2 July 2005. He was one of the major Alsatian artists of the 20th century, initially expressionist, then abstract and figurative. He was also a draughtsman, poet, screen printer and teacher at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg. He was close to the painters Auguste Herbin and Jean Arp.
Good condition overall, with a slight, barely visible scratch. Very fine rendering, fine quality, suitable for framing.
